i posted in other treatments, but maybe some may be interested here....
so somebody adviced me st john's wort in alcohol doesn't cause photosensitivity (and prepared this way you get the most of it). you can prepare your tincture at home. You use one part of st john's wort to five parts of alcohol (the higher % the better... to us from the EU, yes, it's hard to get the 80% alcohol... I went with some homemade slivovitz (52%... highest I could get hands on). So you cut your freshly picked st john's wort into glass bottle, pour the alcohol over it and leave it rest on the sun for 7-14 days... shake it daily. Then you filter it and it's done. Take 10 drops daily. I can honestly report not photosensitivity for me. Tincture has pretty red color and horrid, horrid taste. Moodwise it works better then capsules or tea. note: yes, st johns wort interacts with everything. ask your doctor. but don't tell him you pick your own nekkid by the moonlight on st john's night, although it's the best way to collect it and it's most powerful picked that way. (no I didn't do it, cause where i live it bloomed later, eh).

just some high % content booze or ethanol you can your for consumption. Cause some chemicals in plants are best dissolved in ethanol.
If you worry about getting drunk on your daily dose.. worry not. You probably consume more ethanol, unknowingly in jams, sweets and juices (cause sometimes it's used when making these).

Oh, I'm not worried about getting drunk, but I just wanted to make sure I was thinking the same type of alcohol that you were.
