Does anybody have any suggestions for my endless pacing, & restlessness? It starts around early afternoon & can last the rest of the day......I'm starting to drive myself nuts! It seems to be slowing some, but any of it is tooooooo much for me?

I should be really thin by now Pacing, Pacing, Pacing

I think the pdoc is waiting for the meds to take hold........

Maybe you could try to find something else to do. Reading, writing, online games, even cleaning. Pacing, Pacing, Pacing Do you have any hobbies? Maybe if you did something else you could take your mind off of the constant pacing. It's just a suggestion.. I wish I knew what else would help. Maybe someone else has some better suggestions. I'm sorry things are rough for you right now. Don't give up on the meds, though. It takes awhile for some meds to start helping much. But it's worth the wait. I hope you feel better very soon.

I would suggest calling your doc today...even if someone else is on call to see if they can do anything to help you. Maybe they would give you something to help calm you in the meantime. If you are that agitated I really think it would be a smart thing to do.

I hope you get to feeling better soon...I know how difficult it can be.

Yes, agitation of this sort needs to be checked by the doc. Hope you feel better soon. Been there.--Suzy

I'm glad you've decided to call your pdoc. Let us know how things turn out, ok? ((( bigdog )))

This is strictly a suggestion, mind you, your mileage may vary, however, something I've found that often works for me is to eliminate as many distractions as possible and just sit and listen to loud music. For some reason, it focuses my attention without the accompanying franticness (is that a word?) that goes with being actively into something. As has been said, music hath charms to sooth the savage breast. It really seems to be true in my case. I hope it helps you too.

I have finally STOPPED PACING!!!!!

after 2 weeks........

My therapist discovered that it was anxiety based.....

I have some unresolved issues that apparently wanted attention....

So basically my mind was using my body to get my attention Pacing, Pacing, Pacing

It is so important, IMO, to not only take meds but have therapeutic support.....

Thanks for all of your support & good thoughts Pacing, Pacing, Pacing

That is so true, besides meds (hugely helpful) talk therapy is a great adjunct.
Glad to hear you are doing better now.
Take care,
Roe

Taking talking therapy literally doubles the chances of feeling better, according to research...

Glad you are feeling better. I had that anxiety problem as well. IT SUCKS! I was so bad I was crawling on the floor doing sit ups , anything to make that "motor" in me stop.As it turned out it was a side affect of my abilify . Not on that anymore . And you are right a good T doc is just as important as meds . Take care .
