I see a wide difference in this as I browse the forum. Also a big difference in the length of the appointments. I see mine every 2 to 3 weeks for 45 minutes. I am happy with that. Are you happy with yours? Do you even have a therapist? Are you happy with that?
Thanks for this!

I see mine once a week for one hour (sometimes 1 1/2 hours if we're really onto something). Been doing this for 4 years now. My therapist says visits will become less frequent as I need them. I don't yet. Sometimes I have a difficult time waiting just 7 days. Sometimes I wish therapy was twice a week.

My therapist is wonderful. She has even suggested having my wife be present for a couple sessions (which we did). Under certain circumstances, she has called me at home just to make sure I was alright and if I needed to talk about anything.

She says I can phone her at any time if I feel the need. I believe her although I have never done it.

I see one of my pdocs instead of a T, I have a better repore with her and I have been seeing her for many years. She recently had a baby and we had a break and then cut back to once every two months despite her worry, as I was convinced there was nothing wrong with me. Now I realise I need to see her a bit more I'd like to go back to once a fortnight but unsure if she can fit me in, its been nearly a month since I saw her now. I can cope with seeing her once a month but I need support from elsewhere in the meantime (boyfriend, here, chat rooms etc).

I see my T every 10-14 days depending on my mood fluctuation and how concerned she is about me. I would like to have weekly hour long sessions but that's not possible as she only works at the clinic 3 days a week.

I used to see mine twice a week, but now I'm seeing her every other week as long as I'm moderately stable.

My psychiatrist twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays, then my therapist on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Each session is an hour.
I am really sick of trying to talk about my problems.

I see my therapist every two weeks for 50 minutes unless she feels that I need another appointment. She's really good and I'm suppose to see my therapist once a week, but I can't afford that.

I see my therapist every two weeks for an hour, but if I need more help he is available. I see my pdoc every three months. I'm pretty stable in their eyes, and I'm pretty happy with the way things are, even though my sleep schedule is messed up.

When I have issues I see her every two weeks. In between episodes, or when I have good hypomania and I'm functioning very well, I go longer between visits, maybe 3-4 weeks. Even though I feel ok, it's still good to see her and get a reality check.

So the difference isn't quite as much as I thought. It's just that most of you go more often than I do. There are 3 therapists at the PA I go to and they seem to be pretty busy all of the time. I don't know if I would be able to go more often than I do.

For the people who go once or twice a week, do you think you could function with fewer visits?

The one through work I can see once a month for an hour.

The one through the hospital I am supposed to see every week (but our schedules have not matched up), and so far they have been 90mins each.
