I know that I'm being impulsive but I think about quitting my job, it feels like every second that I'm awake! I'm just tired of dealing with people! I want a job where I'm free to do things at my pace on my own. AGH! I have to convince myself every morning to go into work. It's so tiring. Just thinking about applying and interviewing for another job is overwhelming, but i know that if i don't work i'll fall into a deep pit that no one will be able to get me out of.
If only I had determination and motivation :/
I guess this is just a venting session.....

I can hear you saying how frustrated you are with your job, but you really aren't ready to go through the process of finding another job right now. I know I was really fed up with my job for awhile. it absolutely killed me to go into work. so I focused on the positive aspect of the job...my paycheck...and that motivated me to go to work each day until I eventually got out of my funk. because I really do like my job. I like the people there and everything. so what positives do you have about your job that can make you feel good about being there? if you cant find any, then it certainly is time to look for antoher job. take it one step at a time. one app at a time. don't overwhelm yourself. take care.

Patsy Cline, I could have wrote that very rant myself. I'm the same boat. Hope we find peace soon.

Thanks guys. I know that the positive thing is that I'm not so crazy that I'm going to just walk out on my job today. I do like the people I work with, and my boss is great. It's just the nature of the job. I'm exhausted. I can't be nice to people who aren't nice. I've lost my ability to fake it.

Thank you all for the support!

no matter what you decide to do remember it is always easier to get a new job if you still have the current one...

One of the big problems you might be having is that your job is the center of your world. It doesn't have to be that way. I know plenty of people who have crappy jobs that they hate, but since they have put other things in front of it, it just becomes something mildly unpleasant that you just have to do, like cleaning out the cat box or changing the oil in your car.

Just a thought.

That's true. If I'm serious enough then I can put together a resume and look for something else. You know what I'd like to do? I'd like to be a companion for an elderly person. I know that it doesn't pay much at all but I would think I'd find it to be a meaningful job. (That won't pay the bills)

I agree with the advice you've been given. I hated my job and boss and had an awful time 3 weeks ago when I went back to work. I made myself focus on the good and it's improved a lot. And my boss is being transferred! Yippee! If I had quit, I'd be trying to start a new job with all the headaches and change that would entail.
