Hey all,

I'm having a lot of trouble. I'm only happy when I'm NOT on meds. That's when I go into this creative, manic phase which I dub "The Jazz state"

Because I'll put on a jazz record and I'll be rocketed into another dimension...

Thanks, and love,

Sam

Hi, Sam. I would give anything for "The Jazz State" to hit me. Without meds I get suicidal and with meds right now isn't much better. i keep waiting one of those wonderful highs.

Sorry you are having trouble, that's the problem with mania. Are you taking your meds now? I hope so. You may not be as "happy" but it does keep us out of trouble.

Hugs right back at you. Do we have to give up music for sanity?

May I suggest country blues master Lightnin' Hopkins as you try to find that balance? It's my "I'm okay with being calm and a little melancholy right now, but not numb" state. I was surprised at how layered an old man's voice and a slow-playing acoustic guitar can be.

i've never heard it being refered to as "the jaz state", but i suppose it's pretty neat

it actually sounds like a nick name you could give to a US state more than a way to describe mania, but yeah..

i don't think i even have a name for it- i just call it mania
