I wrote something similar about getting off the rollercoaster but it just keeps pulling through the station and going again!

Why can't you enjoy Sundays? Is it because its right before Monday?

I also hear you about wanting to kill yourself not other people and clarifying this.

How is your husband a social worker and think that you can just pull yourself up by your bootstraps when you're depressed?

Thanks for reading.

Yeah, Sundays suck for me in anticipation of Monday.

He's just not very objective when it comes to his family. I guess it's the emotional involvement he has with me that he doesn't have with clients.

Which brings me to my second point. My husband, despite being a social worker, really doesn't understand me. He doesn't "get" the disorder and he thinks I should be able to pull myself out of depression by thinking positively. I gave him some stuff to read 2 months ago, first hand accounts mostly, of people with BD and he still hasn't read it.......

I had my husband read up on BD before my dx and he said, "that doesn't sound like you" huh?? It sounded like me to me. He is very understanding BUT he just really doesn't understand. When my problems really came to a head, I took 2 years off work. Been back for a year but only 2 days a week and those days only require 8 hours /week. I hope that you are able to come up with a solution to your work situation. If you can find something part time or if you take some time off. It really helped me. It helped ease a lot of tension at home because I don't have the job stress added on me now.
