Hi all! Just saw my pdoc yesterday. Been suffering depression and trouble falling asleep. Made me get on a scale. I gained 12 lbs He said there is a new rx that is a vitamin. It's classified as "medical food" and it's only available with a script. It is intended to relieve depression. I just started taking it yesterday.

Has anyone heard of this or taken it? My pdoc said it works especially good with
Lamotrigine, which I take 200 mgs twice a day.

Has anyone taken the sleeping pill zaleplon? I've read reviews but I don't know what is true or what the user's circumstances were, such as drug (prescription or otherwise) or alcohol use, dosage...things of that nature.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I'm on Deplin, it was added to help with my other ADs. No side effects as far as I can tell.

Has it worked for you? How long have you been on it? Thanks for responding

I've been on Deplin. Expensive. Was put on it when a test my doctor ran showed I had a genetic predisposition to depression. I belief Deplin is L-methylfolate (something that sort of helps depression). As much as I would have liked to believe it would help me, I don't think it worked at all. And it eventually got to the point I could no longer afford it. Therapy has helped more. I'm also on Celexa, but I'm not even sure that is what is making me feel better.

BTW: The Deplin cost me $180 for a 90 day supply and insurance will not, to my knowledge, cover it.

Good luck.
Thanks for this!

The Deplin made a slight difference but is hard to tell with the other meds. If you get the generic it should be covered by your insurance. That is what I do.
