I think it's because I experience mania more often than depression. Of course, when I am depressed, I forget what it was like to be manic too.

My T used the word "depersonalization" -- not as in the full-blown disorder, but in the sense of that "other" experience seeming completely disconnected to yourself.

It is not that I forget in the sense that I do not remember. It is more that I become so consumed with what I am feeling NOW.
