I honestly haven't really thought about it. I've never been big on the resolutions things, maybe because I'm so bad at following through with them. I would like to start eating better, both to lose weight and help manage my disorder. I would also like to quit smoking, but my pdoc told me I have to use the patch or something and not quit cold turkey, and that stuff is more expensive than the cigarettes. I would also like to pay off some of our debt. I guess that's about all I can think of now.

I never make New Year's Resolutions. I learned a long time ago, I would never follow through with them and it just left me depressed, so I stopped making them.

Hi. I quit smoking in July of 2012. My doc wouldn't give me chantix so I used the nicotine gum and wellbutrin. A great website is the CDC tobacco free. I watched a bunch of the disturbing videos of smokers with numerous health problems from smoking. A lot of the ppl were young like in their 40's. A friend I graduated from high sch with is in remission from throat cancer. She started smoking in her teens. All of this was a very effective scare tactic.

Good luck ♥

OH OH OH -

i have one....

for this to be the first year where i take all my meds properly every single day and to take them faithfully. 2 topamax, 3 latuda, 1 cipralex....still a seroquel but hopefully not much longer and 2 suboxones - of course the suboxones don't have to be pushed down my gullet.
i've not done bad the last few months, but that's not good enough.
my life is so much better on this stuff - it's the difference between having a life and not. i just don't know what my problem is.

NO MORE!

I have seen several of you say that you get depressed about not completing these resolutions. The way to do this is to 1- choose your goal. 2- Make it specific 3- Come up with a plan to do it. The plan is the most important part!

1- Do yoga once a week. I have my video in the player, cued and ready to go on Monday morning.

2- Graduate. I am in a cohort so all of my classes auto register, I just have to send the money and complete the course work.

3- Do the Iron Girl Triathlon again in finish in the top 15 in my age group (without getting hit by a car). I have a 12 week training plan I use for all of my races.

4- Do a fall marathon I have not done yet, maybe Richmond. I also have a training plan for marathons.

5- Continue with my treatment, doing pretty well so far. I dedicate an hour on Sunday to work on DBT skills in my workbook, I have a routine for my medications and I see my doc when she says to see her!

mine is simple: to not give up on finding a job (if I don't have one by then) and to beat this damn depression!

Many of my New Year's resolutions are the same as last year's resolutions. But I did keep them. Maybe in five years I will have new ones!

1. Abstain from all mind altering substances except my medications, caffeine, ginseng, and valerian root.

2. Go to the gym 2-3 times a week.

3. Clean my room and keep it tidy. This one is going to be a challenge since I can be rely walk in there!

Thanks! I am actually going 2-3 times a week now. I just got a gym membership a month ago. The trick is maintaining my exercise routine for the rest of the year and thereafter. It's so easy to slack.

I'm not really making New Year's resolutions but I am looking forward to the opening of the gym near me. Son and I can then work out on machines and take showers there (we don't have working electric in our bathroom at home). Hopefully the gym will open in a week or so.

Me too, although I need to lose 40 pounds. I gotta cut out the peanut butter sandwiches (my downfall).
