Hello I've been teaching for 9 years, this is the 2nd school I've taught at. I am currently taking an FMLA because I felt into a depression and was experiencing alot of anxiety. My job is the cause of my anxiety. I'm not happy teaching anymore. I feel it's overwhelming and too stressful for me. I don't think I will return once my leave ends. I don't know what I'm going to do. All my degrees are in education. This is the 2nd time I've taken FMLA because of depression. I now feel it's sign to change jobs. I dread going to work and that shouldn't be the case. I want to be happy and healthy. I need to find my purpose in life because I don't know what it is right now. I do know I like to be of service to others so that's a start and I also would like to find something that isn't so stressful. I don't mind a paycut, I just want to be happy.

Teaching is tough! I dropped in on half of a day just to watch my fiance teach his fifth graders. Oh. my. Lord. The stress must be off the charts. I have my BA in English and History and now I am completely switching and pursuing a masters in social work. I didn't know that social work was what I wanted until I did some volunteer work. It is pretty easy to get involved in some different volunteer programs and then you can see if any of them appeal to you. I think it is one of the best ways to try out different areas without a huge commitment. I hope you can find something that makes you happy.
