I'm trying to figure out if my slight memory loss is caused by my seroquel. It's getting to where it's bothering me and my work. I know I don't really like the groggy effect that it gives me in the morning but it's something that I can deal with. Need to call tomorrow and schedule an initial psychiatrist appt. That was my mental health nurses christmas present for me. Finding me a psychiatrist thats covered by my insurance and finding out when I can get an appt.
Has anyone else had experiences with seroquel? Sent from my Huawei U8800-51 using Tapatalk 2

I took it and noticed some of those issues. It also made me want to eat my sofa .... Needless to say I stopped taking it and never will take it again.

been taking seroquel for more years than I can remember. The groggy feeling should pass as you get used to the medication, if it doesn't, perhaps you need a lower dose???
The only issue I have had is when they came out with the generic... I had an allergic reaction to the different fillers, had to take steriods... steroids are not my friend, but they stopped the all over body itchiness

My primary care dr put me on the seroquel to try and bring me down some. I'm only taking 25 mg two times a day. Then I'm also on 10 mg of viibryd (i had been on 20 mg but when my dr put me on the seroquel she lowered my dose.) and 5 mg of buspar 3 times a day. Maybe it's the combination of everything that is inducing the memory loss. I don't know...
Then again I'm not feeling right anyway. I wonder if this is how mixed feels. But no self diagnosing... Need to go to bed gotta get up early for work. Sent from my Huawei U8800-51 using Tapatalk 2

I've been on Seroquel IR for about 1.5 years. For me it's been a lifesaver for sleep. I'm already a fat dude so I haven't noticed any weight gain, but not sure on how it is to try to lose weight on Seroquel. I do know it makes me want to eat my cat. I'm that hungry, but I don't act on the cravings lol. I have memory loss due to the mood stabilizers I think, not Seroquel. My short term memory is pretty much on its way down the Mississippi to the Gulf od Mexico, where it will probably never return.

I've been on Seroquel for several years, and I haven't noticed memory issues with it. I did have recall issues with Lamotrigine (Lamictal) though.

I've been taking Seroquel for 3 years. My dose started at 300 mg and is now down to 25 mg. I take it before bed and I'm groggy in the morning and totally out of it during the night. I also take 200 mg of Lamictal at suppertime. I've been experiencing short term memory loss and physical issues as well. (I'm somewhat unbalanced and I drop or spill everything I touch.) I saw a neurologist early in the year who said it's due to my meds. I was reassured until I realized this is worsening; I'm going to schedule another appointment soon.

I took it for several months. Had to start going to bed earlier so I wouldn't be groggy in the mornings. Didn't notice any memory problems. Had to give it up due to the cost when my insurance ran out.

You know what I just thought of? If we did have memory problems we may not remember them!

Hi there. I'm on 300mg long acting Seroquel at night before bedtime. Along with 750mg of Depakote. Also occasional Zimovane sleeping med. I find no problems in any of these meds. XXXXXXXXXX

P.S. Sorry. I forgot to add that when commencing Seroquel and Depakote I certainly DID gain weight! A very unwanted side-effect! XXXXXXXXXXX

Yes it ABSOLUTELY messes with my memory. Now if I even take 25mg, I will not remember much of the time that it is in effect. Which is VERY annoying for work because I have whole conversations with people and only very vaguely remember it. I only take it PRN now and that is only if I really really need it.
I feel that the high doses I used to be on (900mg) has permanently affected my memory. |
