I was just diagnosed with PCOS, and am going to be starting treatment for those hormones in a few weeks.

In the meantime, pdoc put me on a very low dose of Zoloft in addition to the 300mg Lamotrigine I was already on. I was terrified that the AD would cause me to go in a mixed state, like effexor did, but I'm feeling pretty good.

I know it might be placebo, because I've been on it only a week, but I really have been consistently feeling better. Positive. Hopeful. Motivated.

You and I have SO much in common. I was diagnosed with PCOS too not all that long ago, but after more testing we have come to the conclusion that my symptoms are a result of being on antipsychotics for so long, and I am borderline PCOS. My diet is already quite similar to a PCOS diet so I have not had to change my lifestyle. I would like to do a little more exercise but that will come once I have less on my plate.

I am also on a very low dose of zoloft in addition to my mood stabiliser, and it works for me. I have I found a higher dose any more effective than the low dose. So I've kept it on the low dose.

I have just had the mirena put in to help with my PMDD and PCOS symptoms, so far it is pretty uncomfortable but I havent experienced depression yet - and its the time of the month that I should be depressed so I am hopeful.

feel free to PM me any time you want to talk.

If I may ask what's PCOS? I'm a little confused.

PCOS is Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome. It basically means hormones are out of whack, and there are a number of symptoms associated with that, multiple cysts on our ovaries being one of them. There are also issues with fertility and long term health.

I wrote the last post in a hurry and forgot to say I am so glad you are feeling better. Being stable makes life so much easier.
