Title says it all. He had enough of my mental illness and had his friends and brother pack up everything in the house and I came home to an empty house. He even took our cats. He says there is no chance left to be together, after 6 years of my left being dedicated to him. Today is our sixth anniversary of meeting too. I told him I would go to therapy to be a better person but he won't hear it. I am currently home alone at 3am, not a good feeling.
Only choice I have is to move back to CA to my stepmom and dad's house, i will have to start over. I will have to quit the job I've had here for two years. He did not even leave me a vehicle to drive to and from work and gave me enough money to buy a plane ticket home. I am unbelieveably upset right now. It feels like my world has caved in on me.

Don't know where you want to be...is there another way to get to work? I know, for myself, it would feel better to move on from where I am than to "go home"---but, if home is a supportive, loving place, then...
I am so sorry...this is all so sad. And, it says something about him that he would just pack up and go after all this time (doesn't do transitions well, I may be projecting)---not talk with you and work out either a way to move forward, or a way to end things that doesn't leave you so terribly bereft. Mercedes, I am so sorry. Do you want to go back home really or do you prefer to stay where you are? You can do either one, you know. You do have a choice! Maybe the plane tickets are cashable? I hate it when men make us change our lives. I've had two divorces when very young, so I've been through that and more.

Is there someone at work who you could possibly get a daily ride from? Is your dad and stepmom's place a supportive location for you? Do you have supportive friends there?

Yes, try to do something that you enjoy that will help you feel better. You can Private Message me any old time. Keep on this website, we are all here for you and will support you. Taking the cats was so nasty of him. It is obvious that he was not meant for you. Whatever you do, make sure you have a good pdoc and therapist. Some places charge on a sliding scale, according to what your income is. Good luck and please keep in touch.

Please talk to him about your cat. If he doesn't budge please pick up one from the shelter. You need all the comfort you can get and a place to focus all your love. The worse case you can take the cat with you. Go to a food bank so you have food. You may want to call the police if your name is on the cars at least so you can get to work.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, the fact that he cleaned out your house without a word and was spiteful enough to take your cats says more about him than it does about you.

You're a humanbeing first and foremost, and you have the BASIC HUMAN RIGHT to be treated with DIGNITY AND RESPECT.

No matter how negatively your mental health impacted him, in the very least, he could have afforded you some dignity.

I'm really proud of you for coming here and reaching out to us. That speaks volumes toward your character. It means you're not just a survivor, but a fighter. It means you didn't choose to curl up in a ball and give up. You instead chose to reach out to people who could support you and motivate you to heal and build something better from the rubble that was dropped on top of you.

As much as this feels soul crushing at the moment, know that you can and will overcome this, and you will have one more accomplishment to add to your list.

I have every faith in you, and I hope that you will keep talking to us, so we can be your cheerleaders on this new journey of yours.

Thanks guys for the replies. This is so hard. I am going back to CA because I think it will help me. I have always felt isolated here, I have no family or friends here. Don't leave until tuesday though, which sucks.

Returning to a supportive environment is the best course of action. Its too easy to isolate and sometimes that's the last thing we need, even when we want it.

I don't know where you are on the bipolar spectrum. But this situation is so common. I know your hurting and I am sorry but you need to remember who you are! You are BIGGER then this minor set back. Yes, I said minor. Not many people can go thru what you have gone thru. Find some thing to distract you until that awful feeling goes away and I promise it will go away!
