Maybe someone can help me out. Bipolar 1 here & currently on a down swing from my last manic episode. I just found out my dad has a rare form of cancer & I am trying to keep it together.
My question is how do we keep from going so low when scrappy stuff happens? I am open to suggestions. I have done yoga, meditation, relaxation techniques and it is just not helping. I just am falling further and further down this depression road, and I am having a really hard time getting out of it.

leilana i am so sorry to hear your news. my mom recently passed away from cancer and when she was sick i kept having to delay going to see her because I was too depressed to make the 12 hour train trip. I felt so guilty that i was so depressed and it wasn't even because she was sick, it was because my brain was betraying me. In the end I got to see her but i wish it all could have been different.

Thanks for this!

That's exactly how I am right now. It's hard to wash my body, let alone driving to see my dad & processing that.
Was there anything you did that helped you get out of the depression?
