I am usually dizzy when I stand up quickly. I never used to be like this so I am wondering if it could be a medication, or maybe age lol. I am getting older, not old, but I am not young anymore. It gets tingly, I start to see blackness and stars sort of? I lose balance a little. It's really quick and over fast. I am just wondering if it is normal. I think it is recent that I have been feeling this, but I can't say when and if it matches up to when I started or increased lamotrigine. Thanks!

Could be related. Could be "orthostatic hypotension" (which means that your blood pressure drops when you stand and takes a moment to 'catch up'---you can find out if this is the case by taking your blood pressure first lying down, then sitting, then standing---a greater than 10 drop in pressure is a positive--)-the causes can be many, some transient, some not. Usually not something that will be a problem, but you should sit for a bit before standing, stand up more slowly, and stand a bit before moving.

It could also be that you are gaining or losing weight. I know my dizzy spells increase when I lose weight.

Yes, most likely blood pressure. Just move more slowly. Have you had blood pressure checked lately? Maybe you need a new blood pressure med. The dizziness can fade after a while, but do have it checked out.
