How do you motivate yourself to get out in the world? Self motivation is not my strong suit. I'm having increased difficulty getting out to do necessary things like going grocery shopping. I'm sure that my meds has something to do with why I feel tired all the time even tho its not much that I'm on. I can't tolerate the meds. I take neurontin and remeron. Any advice would help.

Not to speak for everyone else, never mind I will speak for everyone else. Anyone including myself has had, and will have this experience.
When I feel the way you are feeling I have to break down my day and assign myself 1 task for the day. Don't try and do many things because you become overwhelmed and accomplish nothing. Choose 1 task for the day, IE....grocery shopping. View it not as a task but an adventure. |

I do this, too . Set a few goals for the day and praise myself for getting some accomplished.

thank you. I always feel guilty if I just get one thing in that day done, but I guess I really shouldn't. Sometimes I will reward myself after completing a task before I start another. Read a chapter in a book or play one song on guitar hero. Stuff like that before I move onto something else. But if my mood is to low I don't even do one thing let alone several for the day. Its nice to hear someone else say its okay just to get one thing done for the day.

I try to make a list, but I don't beat myself up if its not completed, but I do have trouble getting motivated sometimes...

Neurontin? Gah! Gah! I hated that stuff. Reward yourself for performing complicated tasks, like getting something done. Then go buy something.

It helps my back. I have a pitched nerve and can't do too much . Plus my arthritis. I had two runs with trying meds. I have bad physical reactions. They said I'm not treatable with medications.I can only take it at night or I would be asleep or drunk all day. I wish I didn't have to take anything. It just sucks all the way around.
