I just realized/remembered that I was in therapy even as a little kid. Like 2nd grade-7th even...

How in the world could I have forgotten it until now? I still can't remember why I went in the first place. The only thing I remember is playing anger board games as a young kid with the doctor and I would get candy for a prize.

What could that possibly mean?

That you went to therapy! I had speech classes as a kid and didn't really notice what they were or what they meant for years. Kids just accept a lot into routine so it's normal to not remember routine things. As an adult you/we don't find therapy quite as routine....but then again, lots of kids will believe in monsters under the bed and as adults we know that that's NOT routine or true either.

You might just be looking at your childhood experience with an adult lens.. which is a very differenet perspective than child-you. We normalize things as children that we wouldn't accept as adults. At the same time, kids can be freaked out by things that would unfaze most adults - such as really believing that the monster in the movie is real.

Do you have an alright relationship with your parents? If so, why not ask them? I know that my brother had to go to anger-management classes for a few years while we were in school - he was a really angry person! (Still is...).

Thanks for this!

Nope I've never been an angry person (except when manic, but I didn't have symptoms of that till U was in high school)

Asking my parents...oof...I really don't wanna ask my dad because he drinks a lot and anything that is remotely abstract, he just doesn't understand. Then there's my mom, I asked her once and got nothing. I don't know if she doesn't know or what she's doing...bottom line,I don't want to ask them again.
