He, I'm new her. 50 yo female. Diagnosed Bipolar II about ten years ago. Had gastric sleeve surgery end of November. Started having hard time swallowing and keeping pulls down. Just stopped meds late December. My husband of 17 years suddenly died on January 4. I went back to see my psy a few weeks ado. He put me on mirtazapine15 mg (dissolves under tongue). I take it at night. It makes me feel like a zombie and makes me extremely hungry. I've lost 50 pounds since my surgery and have gained 5 in the past week. I think I'm going to stop taking it. I'm crying all the time. I feel like ****. I have to have my gallbladder removed next week. The discovered enlarged liver with swollen lymph glands on liver and are going to watch it for a few months. I have 3 grown kids. They stay busy. I hate life now. No point in it. Nothing to live for. I do go to grief counselling every other week. O tomorrow. Beginning to wonder what is the point in that. Ugh. Life just sucks and hot sure what to do.

I am sorry to hear about all your struggles and for the loss of your husband. I can understand why life is so difficult for you right now. I would definitely talk to pdoc about changing meds. meds took me from where you are to a totally stable life. I cant believe the difference. it did take a while to find the right ones though. I had to be patient and try a lot of different meds. I refused to tolerate any side effects. you just have to advocate for yourself and really speak up to your doctor. take care...

Thank you for all your kind words. I've decided to continue on this med for a few weeks to see if I adjust. I really don't like the side effect of being hungry all the time. I know finding the right combo is key. I feel like we had finally found it with lamictcal, lithium and celexa. I just couldn't tolerate keeping all those meds down. I also found out my physiatrist is retiring at the end of the year. It's going to be hard to find another one that I trust as much as him.
