Just trying to learn a bit about everyone..
Do you have an animal spirit guide? Do crystals send their energy to you? Do you feel safer with a dreamcatcher in your bedroom? |

I have 2 power animals - elephants and butterflies. I got them from a Shaman at Burning Man last year. It was a really amazing experience. He told me that he could feel some sort of dark entity deeply attached to me, and he cleared it away. I felt incredible after the treatment. He told me to consider that my barometer, and measure how I am feeling against how I felt then, and that is how I will know it is time to do some more work. He taught me how to call on my power animals and go for journeys. Unfortunately I haven't been able to maintain the feeling I had after the treatments, and when I've tried to journey with power animals on my own it hasn't really worked. I've been considering trying to connect with a local Shaman to pursue this, but I haven't gotten around to it. I'm going back to Burning Man this year, so hopefully I can reconnect with the Shamanic journeys then.
I don't know about crystals and dream catchers.

I have spirit guides that have helped me to travel and explore the astral. I've come across quite a few over the years some animal, some humanoid, some other worldly even. I meet new ones as I reach new plateaus in my development. Each one normally embodies aspects of being that I need to master to whatever lesson I'm learning spiritually at the time. I use crystals, incense, color, and candles to enhance my meditations and, yes, I do think that crystals can radiate energies.

Steven Farmer writes some amazing books on this. They are very simple, and easy to understand. He teaches us how to call upon the spirits.
When you read it, there are many times that you will say "wow" |

I put my big crystal in with a little pot of plants. It's on a window sill and gets a lot of sun. When I water the plant I wash the crystal.

There are several user groups on this website actually. Not sure how current they are.

I guess I had one semi slip while I was there, because I tried, but it didn't really work. I took LSD, but my meds blocked the effect, so all I experienced was very mild and only lasted a couple of hours. I don't count time for sobriety, so it doesn't matter to me, but if you are committed to continuous sobriety I guess it could be hard. I'm sober because I am drug tested regularly for work, so for me it's not my choice. But I think you can go and enjoy Burning Man while maintaining sobriety. The people I was camping with were doing a lot of drugs, so that made it harder. The people I'm going with this year are not into drugs beyond pot and alcohol, so that will be better for me. My advice if you want to go is connect with the theme camp Anonymous Village to meet other sober Burners, and that will make it easier. It's a great festival, so I totally recommend it once you feel ready.

Burning Man is a week long festival in the desert in Nevada. The idea is radical self expression and self reliance. You can't buy anything there, so you have to bring everything you need with you, and there are no garbage cans or drain systems, so you have to pack everything out with you. The festival is entirely run by the participants. There are all different theme camps, running everything from workshops and lectures, to theatrical performances, to bondage parties, and at night it's a giant rave with 6 sound stages. There is art everywhere, and art cars rolling around. There is a lot of fire, and art exhibits are burnt through out the week. There is a giant structure of an effegy of a man, and on the second last night this is burnt in a giant party. There is a big structure called the temple, and this is burnt on the last night. The entire city is deconstructed at the end of the week, and the philosophy is leave no trace. The entire city runs by gift economy. Things are freely given, not sold or traded, and each person is expected to bring some kind of contribution to share. It is very diverse, and there is something for everyone. You pretty much ride around on a bike for a week checking things out, dancing, and watching things burn. There are 60,000 people. If you like festivals, I highly recommend it. I'm also going to Coachella this year, which is a little smaller, and more of a commercial music festival, but also a lot of fun. I've done both festivals sober, and it's still been great.
