Has anyone tried the Holosynch program?

I just got an offer to get the intro program at a significantly reduced cost, i.e. affordable.

Any experiences, feedback are welcomed.

I tried searching PC for Holosynch, but came up with no results.

I have never heard of this but just looked it up and it looks interesting. Is this something that makes sense to you and your condition? If so, I would check it out for sure. I'd love to hear your thoughts after...

You may have come up with no results because you've spelt it wrong Try the search again spelled "Holosync".

I did a whole thread on my Holosync experience, and there are a few other mentions of it.

I really enjoyed it and would have continued had I had the money. But it certainly helped me get into meditation and use it to my benefit.

Anything that helps gets a big tick from me, so I'd recommend to give it a go, what have you got to lose?
Thanks for this!

Hi, I had never heard of this program so, of course, I researched it. There are several different program (names) that all basically do the same thing, IE...Holosync, Insight, Focus, NeuroActivator, ets... Literature that I found says that "Theta binaural beats" are a form of brainwave entrainment, of which, are used to intentionally alter a person’s brainwave frequency. Certain frequencies can stimulate the brain to start producing brain waves to match that frequency. They can put the person into a state of meditation and could result in improved mood, memory, energy, sleep, etc...

This sounds really good but we have to remember that we can not believe everything we read! I did not find proof that any trials or actual tests were done to prove any of this. I also found two articles that report that it is a money-making scam. So beware!

This sounds like the same people who think planet Earth has its own frequency. I am a bit skeptical of this.

Many years ago I was in therapy through the Veteran's Administration. This type of therapy (using binaural beats, etc.) was being experimented with and I was fortunate enough to be able to use the program free of charge. I found it quite helpful with focus, calming, sleep, general mood stabilization. Occasionally I use the sound programs (free) on youtube.

Thanks Supanova.
I will read your thread.

About how long with it before you experienced benefit?

Right. What have I got to lose?
Well that would actually be about $49.95 plus shipping. LOL.

Thanks again.

Thanks, Sister Rags.

Your experience through the VA sounds encouraging, and that you in fact reaped the benefits of better calm, quality of sleep, etc. ... all very much of interest to me.

Thanks again.

If this is sound entrainment technology, then I tried this from two different companies in the past. It never had any effect on me.
Thanks for this!

Another PC member named Gus has also tried it. Here's a thread regarding Gus' Holosync experience...

Holosync CD's (mp3's now?) can be found at Centerpointe Institute. www.centerpointe.com. Bill Harris of Centerpointe is the person who developed Holosync.
Ten years ago I bought Centerpointe's Holosync CD's. You start at a low level and work up to higher and higher levels. The method used is brain entrainment, caused by different pitches of tones. The tones are covered by music and you can not hear the tones. They promise meditation at an advanced rate, much faster then transcendental meditation. Centerpointe offers support for the program and you can email or phone them at any time.
I made it to the 3rd level and then quit the program. I was not getting the results that I had hoped for. But that is just me. Everyone is different.

Thank you very much, Trippin for your post and the link re: Gus and Holosync
I found it very informative.
It was the "7 year program" aspect of it that I recalled being my concern years ago.
Thus I appreciate reading of Gus 's experience.
Thanks again.

I used the free you tube videos of delta beats to help with relaxation and sleep. I find it very beneficial.

I'm very objective and open minded, but other than becoming relaxed, I detected no difference in my state of mind after listening to those tracks. I would become more relaxed listening to anything that was soothing or initially interesting, and so I cannot connect it to anything unique regarding the technology being promoted.

On the other hand, if I am sitting on a cliff overlooking the ocean, there is a very good chance that my brain state will truly change. The combination of the sound of the waves (and other random sounds), the sight of the waves and sunlight (and reflections), and the feel of the wind/spray, provide a full, all encompassing sensory experience, which is not redundant (meaning there are random fluctuations in what is being experienced, rather than experiencing the same exact thing over and over). I think that is what is needed to trigger a significant change in brain state. There are machines out there that try to duplicate a full sensory experience, and there are or were salons where you could be placed into a unit that provided a full sensory experience. And, I believe those operated on randomly generated sensory input, rather than input that generated the same sequence of input over and over.

I don't think that putting on headphones and listening to the same redundant sound track over and over will have a big impact on the brain, regardless of the frequencies generated through it. If anything, the brain will probably build a tolerance or lose sensitivity to the sound track over time, since it becomes redundant after a few plays. After a while, the brain becomes less conscious of things that occur frequently.

I could be completely wrong about the above, but to me, what I'm saying seems like a big flaw in the concept of this technology. I think you are better off going to the ocean, or to a loud river stream or waterfall, and allowing that experience to bring you into a deeper or more relaxed state. It certainly has worked for me in the past. Just my opinion though.
Thanks for this!
