Depression: a painted turtle.
"mixed" depression (meaning I have a lot of energy but I am not happy with anything): a rat.
Hypomanic:an otter or a squirrel.
Irritated hypomania: a wasp!

The closest I have come was imagining the entirety of my bipolar as Jean Grey/Phoenix.
The possibilities used to seem truly endless, and it sometimes was terrifying.

When I have explained this to some individuals, they told me I was being melodramatic.

No one who has experienced full on bipolar has ever said that to me after hearing my description, however.
