I had one job for three years. Other than that, none more than two years. I have had a lot of really bad employers, but I don't quit. There were a few times that I did because we moved away. I usually do okay for the first year at a job, and then they get tired of me and I get paranoid and extremely stressed and then they get rid of me.

I had one job for 2 1/2 years, one for just short of 2 years, a couple that were about a year and a half. Every other job I had were about five months or less, and have had long periods of time in between jobs with no employment.

I have lasted about 4 years with one job. That is only because they put up with my problems. That was a very good company to work for. The rest of my jobs have been 6 months to a year and a half.

I can usually last a year or two. My longest period of employment was almost three years; my shortest, three hours. This last job, I didn't quite make four months. At least I can't blame this one on my being openly bipolar; I just got overwhelmed with all the reading material and the millions of details I was supposed to remember, not to mention the hardship (with a broken toe) of being on my feet for hours at a time. It just wasn't the right job, and I'm actually glad to have been let go.

I was recently fired from my job of 4 years. My first job out of high school was also 4 years. Other than that, it's usually a year or two and I did have a couple long periods of unemployment.

I don't hate people, but I don't like many either. I think I've finally realized I should look for a job that involves as few customers as possible!

Which one? I've had 39. (That I can remember. )
The longest was 6 years, but… it was seasonal, so it's not the same as 6 real years… Shortest? No idea. Couldn't even give you an average, as that would require record-keeping, remembering and/or having a sense of time. None of which are in my skill set.
Never had a job with a chair. Though I have lasted long enough that I could have sat down for a moment had there been one.

I think the longest I've had a job was a couple of years. I have quit either to move to another city, a change in law school schedule, etc. The shortest I had was 3 days and then I got fired. This happened just about a month ago and was due to severe depression and feeling overwhelmed (and telling my trainer continually how overwhelmed I was feeling. I think it was too stressful on HER for having to hear me continue to say how overwhelmed I was feeling.)
Thanks for this!

I've been at my current job for a year and 1/2. The last one was 3 years and the one before that was 3 years as well. I either get fired for unacceptable behavior or I get bored and quit.

I've never had a job for more than 6 months. I've been working as self employed since I was 15, just because of that. I can't keep jobs long enough to bother looking anymore.

The longest job i've had was 3 years. I get bored easily so i move from job to job a lot. I often have a few casual jobs at the same time, but i have a full time job now. I've been in my current job almost a year, and it's a 3 year contract, so i'll probably stay until the end, but i'm thinking of going back to school. I've never stayed in a job through a major mood episode - i have quit them, or gone off on medical leave and not returned. The shortest job i had was 4 days, but i quit because i hated it. I am having my mental health monitored as a condition of keeping my nursing license - the monitoring goes until may 2015. When i got hospitalized it ruined my reputation at work, and i'm still building it back up, but it will never be the same. I had a perfect career, and getting certified ruined all that. I'm still humiliated by what i went through.

OT: What is meant by "getting certified"? Is this being certified by the court system? I wonder if that has happened to me? I think certified MI cannot own or carry guns where I am from. I do enjoy putting holes in cardboard targets at the shooting range. But I am against carrying a weapon.

Getting certified means certified under the mental health act where i live. It means involuntary hospitalization. If you are a nurse and you are certified you get reported to the regulatory body for nurses, and they open a disciplinary file. They forced me off work for 6 months, so i lost my job. Then they made a condition of me getting my license back that i will be monitored for my mental health for 40 months, which means mandatory and documented pdoc appointments, med adherence, sobriety,,and a bunch of other things. I was on stress leave when i was hospitalized, so i never did anything inappropriate or dangerous at work. It is discrimination against nurses who have mental illness. I have 12.5 months left.

Hmm well let's see I got my 1st job in June 2011 and added a second job in January 2012, right after which I got mad at my 1st job and quit in February 2012. (I framed my resignation letter lol) Then in May 2012 I got a second job again, and worked there for three weeks and quit. Then in June 2012 I quit my other job and started another job in July 2012. I worked there 5 weeks and quit in August 2012. Then went back to the job I quit in May 2012. I worked there from August to November 2012 when I got bored and randomly applied for another job which I got hired at. I worked there from Nov 2012 to Feb 2013, I got fired from this job. Then I drew unemployment from Feb 2013 to May 2013 then I started working at the job I am at now which I have been at for 1 year as of May 2nd. So I have had 7 jobs from 6 different employers from the time I was 17 to 20. Wow when I write that out I know why I don't tell people all the jobs I have had it sounds really bad lol.
