I seem to catch every cold and flu going around.

I've tried herbs, vitamins, seeing a naturopath, etc, etc, etc

Is there anyone else like this?

What do you do about it?

Help!

Lots of water...I can't remember the last time I had an actual cold or flu -- but I do get sinus infections because of allergies.

No. I don't think it would be connected with bipolar. I suggest you talk to your doctor about what you can do to beef up your immune system.

That said, though, come to think of it, I do take Tegretol as a mood stabilizer, and it weakens the immune system. So maybe a bipolar med might be involved.

I try not to get too close to ailing people, wash my hands very frequently, keep my hands away from my face, etc.

yes! I have the same issues; I'm always sick or worn down and nothing has seemed to help. I've been to multiple doctors and my hormone levels, thyroid, everything that could be causing it is working great. I was never sick as a child and didn't start getting sick until I was 18 and pumped full of new meds. I'm assuming they made my immune system weak?

I thought I was the only one who had this problem. It's been almost ten years and I still have no idea how to treat it or who to seek out.

I get a cold or bronchitis only about every year and a half; of course as a nurse I'm around a lot of sick people, which is why my immune system is so strong. Good thing, too, because when I do get sick and can't sleep well, my BP symptoms flare out of control like they did earlier this year. Damned mixed episode came on top of bronchitis and asthma exacerbation in February, and I let it go on until mid-March. Stupid, stupid, stupid. So it behooves me to NOT get sick in the first place!

I do now...but only because I work at a daycare so every flu/cold that exists within the community is brought in and spread rampantly.

Before this job I wasn't sick all that often, though a lot more than I was a kid...my senior year of high school my immune system decided to go to crap.

No I do not, however I work in the medical field so I am exposed to so much stuff on a day to day basis. I did get some food poisoning last fall though which would of been my fault-ish though.

Yes! I always feel tired/exhausted. Tests only showed my iron levels were down, however, even when I supplement and take vitamins etc, I still catch every little thing going around..

I catch everything that walks within 50 ft of me. Asthma and allergies are probably to blame.

Nope. I pretty much never get sick, which is good because I don't need more stress in my life.

I rarely get sick, which is not just good for me, but for everyone else too as germs just throw my *****Ometer completely out of wack.
I would say that my immune system does a pretty good job.

I used to, especially strep throat, until I got on the right combo of meds for me. Then the manias calmed down enough so that I didn't wear my body out so badly. The healer for me is sleep. Spring is rough, even my good meds sometimes aren't enough to help me sleep 8 hours or even 6 hours/night
Best wishes to you on this quest!
