I am not sure if I have bipolar. I was diagnosed with depression not too long ago - but my mood isn't always down. Lately, especially after going off my anti-depressant meds (stupid I know - definately not my Dr.'s idea) - I have been cycling between being extremely depressed and lethargic to being in a good mood. I don't understand it - there don't seem to be any triggers that are noticeable for my depression. But, I don't really get 'high' -maybe just a little hyper and I get lots done on those days. Today is one of those days. Is it bipolar?? It's not like I'm really 'high,' just ok - not down at all, and actually on the happy side I would say. Confused... what do you think?

It could be a "mild" case of bp--like bp 2 where you only get hypo manic (not a full-blown manic episode), but still get very depressed. Mention your concerns to your doc. Take care & enjoy today.--Suzy

If you want to label yourself (like I seem to want to do), what you describe seems to fit pretty well into the BP2 criteria. But, those definitions are simply incapable of categorizing every form of BP.

I also seem to fit closest to BP2 (my psychologist agrees), so what you say sounds familiar to my own experience. Although, I haven't ever gone off my anti-depressants.

Like Suzy said, mention this to your doc the next time you see him/her.
