So spoke to pdoc today (completely new doc as other is off on maternity) she had notes from all my previous sessions, according to these notes which were the opinions of several docs they ranged from nothing wrong with me to stress disorder. Within 10 minutes she said I was very clearly on the bipolar spectrum and it looks like most time was put in investigating the voices in my head and other symptoms were overlooked. She diagnosed me with bipolar type 2 with psychosis and prescribed seroquel and ablify, I've still to pick them up so not sure the dose. For the seroquel I'm sure she said 100mg in morning and at night. I'm also under strict orders not to smoke weed while I'm on these as it will.drive me up the wall lmao.
It was good to finally have an answer but I'm not looking forward to these meds.
Any info/thoughts/comments would be appreciated, cheers Pc

Get ready to feel so much better. It will take 6-8 for the full affect. It also might take time to find the right meds for you. (took me 8 years)

Be patient...I hope you feel better soon..it does take time for meds to kick in. It's taken me a number of years to find the right combo. I'm also dx.with bp2 as well as anxiety disorder, bpd, depression and ptsd. I've just recently lost my mother to cancer and got hypo manic. For two weeks I felt great even tho she died. Then I had big unattainable plans and got hit with depression. All this happened even tho I'm properly medicated. I wish you luck.

It must come as a relief to be finally diagnosed. I hope that you feel much better soon.
Best wishes

Im sure getting your diagnosis was a bit of a relief .. Make sure you take your medication as prescribed and realize it takes time for them to work. Meanwhile work on coping skills and good self care.

Take care

Best of luck. Finding the right medications is the hardest part. I'm still trying to find a balance myself.

Getting a correct diagnosis should be a relief. I was 55 before receiving my correct diagnosis. Seroquel can produce some side effects, and so can abilify. When you pick up your meds, ask for a private consult with the pharmacist about the possible side effects and what to look for. Some reactions to meds are temporary until your body becomes used to them. If they are serious or unbearable, call your doctor right away to explain what is happening. Your doc then can decide to change the dosage, or change the meds altogether. Just be alert to how you feel. Remember that it takes at least 2 weeks or more for new meds to begin being effective, so have some patience.
