The stress level at work is so high that I get the shakes from it.
I am starting to really screw-up at work. I am quite sure that the company will find some reason to let me go when I get back. Has anyone ever been in this position? Work does not know that I am BP Advice please |

I am going thru exactly what you are. I also get the shakes when the anxiety is high, this is how I wake up in the morning before I go to work. I also make mistakes at work when things are out of whack.
I am currently on med leave because of the stress and I am going thru med changes right now and have had bad side effects so now I have to start a new medication. I am also on intermittent FMLA at the company I work for. My supervisor knows about my BP and OCD, which I did not have to tell him but he is supportive and Human Resources handles my med leave and FMLA, which only involves a few people so it is confidential. They follow all of the laws for people with serious illnesses. You live in Canada so I don't know how the laws work for you. Due to the documentation I have from my doctor and what Human Resources has they have no reason to let me go because when I am at work I do an excellent job. I don't know if this helps, but I wish you the best and maybe someone from Canada can help you out with your questions. |

I had this happen once when I was admitted to the psych hospital. Fortunately, my boss was aware of some of my issues, so he just told everybody that I had taken vacation time. I was gone about 10 days, so when I returned I was still reeling from the hospital experience and it was hard for me to settle back in when everybody though I should be rested.
If you have sick leave or vacation time I don't think they can get around giving you time off, however, if you are like me now and don't have those benefits, that makes it harder to predict. But I will say I was out sick with a blood clot in my leg and they covered for and were very nice when I came back. Good luck and hope you get your stress level down. ![]()

Just going through the exact same thing with my daughter today. She is suffering from extreme anxiety and today had to go to the doctor and put her on short term disability. She also is screwing up at work so thought she should remove herself before she gets fired. She went off on medical leave. Know one at work knows what's really going on with her.
You were smart to take a break. Take this time to care for yourself ![]()
