If you want an antipsychotic that is weight neutral your choices are pretty much Latuda, abilify and Geodon. Abilify really doesn't make you sleepy at all so if you actually want a sleep med that's not going to help you but it sounds more like you want stability over sleep and normal sleep can come with stability anyway. I don't think any of those three are particularly sedative but things can vary a lot from person to person.

Takes time as you well know, but we all here in this post are looking to be able to be stable, and talking about our medication and dose helps.

I am in a special situation myself, because I am recovering from breast cancer, all fine as much as can be fine, and Cancer Free. In my situation I can't afford the racing thought and depression so I am tired and dizzy but not only because of Seroquel, we all have our own daily challanges, I hope you can stay as good as you are right now!
With the right medication we can cope better, for me is Seroquel and Clonazepan. For you and anyone else here can be any medication and dose, any other treatment that your pdoc and yourself find out that is the right one.

It's not easy! Follow your feelings and what you want ferelpis, mean time thank you too.
Get well, stay well, Hugs
Alexia
I am wishing all the best for you Alexia

Hey

So, i don't know if it is because i am not depressiv right now.. Depression sucks. Big time. In this phase I wanna die, i wanna harm myself, I believe that death is the solution. But now, i am normal, i do sleep (6 hours which is normal for me, 3-4 when hypo) and all. So no, I don't need a pill to sleep, i want a pill to stabilize me not to mentally lobotomize me! Do you think i should really propose stuff to the proc? Things are weird in Germany, you don't get to show people how to do their job, especially my doc seems a bit strict too.. However i googled latuda and it seems to be available here too.

Since then I read these horror stories about people on this thing, getting like 40 pounds in some weeks, developing diabetes etc. Sorry folks, but no. Bipolar is terrible, but not being able to exercise or even worse, seeing all my 2 year effort of weight-lifting and having well defined abs getting destroyed because of anti-psychotics doesn't come in question. I know i may sound spoilt and vain but I can't help it! I am pretty sure there are other meds out there which can help without making my self esteem hit rock bottom.
I'm sorry, I need to correct myself. As of this morning I've gained 11lbs in 2 months. I'm on Latuda, so is my daughter and it curbs her appetite. I would check into another AP. I myself will now be going off of it. There's no need for me to be on 2 AP's

I think Latuda is great. It's very expensive in Canada though. I'm very lucky to have a pdoc that will listen to me.

Do your own research and then go in and talk to your pdoc. State how you feel, present a medication you would like to try and why.

Be prepared to be challenged because it sounds like this will be a very challenging conversation.

Good luck

Thanks.. I know. I am determined not to take it again. I am ANYWAY at risk of developing diabetes because of my family's history and, no, i am not gonna trigger it myself. Latuda seems good.. Must be really expensive here too though, if it exists in the first place. I am really frustrated atm. I wrote an email to the doc's office. I will go there tomorrow afternoon.

Hey all!!

I guess i tend to believe that people are monsters sometimes.. haha.. so the doc had no problem to prescribe something else, although he thinks quetiapine is better for me. Anyway i am on geodon now!
