My example (on a short way)

1. On 100mg Lamictal: PMS, problems during period, period came on 28th day (normal)

2. On 125 mg Lamictal: PMS, problems during period which came on 32rd day (late in my case)

3. !00mg of Lamictal + adding 5mg Abilify: practicly no PMS, problems during and after, period came on 26th day (too soon in my case!)

QUESTION: Can med's mess up with your period, until you get settled down with it?

HUGS*** love you all

Definitely. Meds usually do affect periods for a month or two.

Yes our cycles are affected by meds. I've noticed being bipolar affects how my pms will play out anyways. It sounds like you are keeping good track of how yr cycle is affecting you with yr meds. Keep it up!

Im not the type of person that calendar's my periods, I'm a regular kind of person who has one within this one week a month.

I am per menopause and there has been a time I have had a period twice in one month and nothing the next month, but when things went to normal it was back to that week.

I believe that meds can mess you up, but your talking a few days. Some months are longer as well.

Just my two cents.

Thanks girls!

Yes you are all right of course. It is just that my um...less good state is still lasting and I had last day of my period on saturday.

but I guess I must keep going. Is it possible having side effects of the med after 4 weeks of taking it? I am jist thinking too much abt everything. My mom says your over thinking. If you would be so bad as you are saying you are we would all see it. I guess she is right..m

Love you all **

I think it certainly is possible. PMS comes with mood swings and is hormonal, so yes I do feel it interferes.
I'm going through menopause and am having a terrible time with mood swings and seems to be making the illness worse.

Skitz yes I totally agree. Well like I wrote in some of my previous threads I think that taking birth control pills might ease PMS cus hormones wouldn't be jumping around like crazy.

asfor menopause you are right. hormones are changing again...maybe some AD might help. pdoc said that during period woman do use AD's to help them with swings etc.. the main problem in my case is anxiety. that is worse during period. swings are...well they are present but not so severe?

i went to pick up another "box" of Abilify and woooaaaa it's so expensive! in one month it got more expensive. i am just happy we have social health system cus otherwise i have no idea how i'd be able to afford it.

hugs to you ladies***

Unfortunately I can't take an AD because It throws me into a manic episode and now that the episodes are getting worse, I'd rather suffer

But Skitz, there a lot of different kind of AD's on the market, something would surely help you out no?
