How do you deal with them? A small part of me knows they're illogical but the rest of my brain is screaming and drowning out any sense of reason. I want to board up my windows and never go out. Any tips on lessening these awful, anxiety-inducing thoughts?

For me it's making deals with my parinoa. Instead of bording up windows because that's a fire haserd why not invest in black out curtains? I also would write down whatever I was thinking and give it to my therapist so she new exactly where I was at mentally. Ive tattooed my wrist with a grounding word. If it gets really bad i try to take my prn.

Also trying to find a comforting thought in the paranoia helps.

IE. They are spying on me. Answer: they must be trying to learn something about me to help others

I'm not thinking I have paranoid personality disorder though. The thoughts really affect me when I'm sleep deprived

I have a lot of problems with paranoid thoughts too. I would actually list it as probably the most distressing/debilitating/potentially dangerous symptom I've ever had. Sometimes it works to distract myself with something really interesting and engaging (for me that's usually reading or writing). When that fails, though, I'm reaching for extra medication, as I'm on several meds that specifically target and help paranoia and anxiety.

And yes, sleep deprivation makes it a hundred times worse. If you don't have a medication that can help with sleep when you're falling into that cycle, you should ask your doctor about prescribing something you can take at least occasionally to help.
Thanks for this!
