What was his childhood trauma? I don't remember hearing about that, but it does make sense.

I heard he had a good childhood actually (home life was good, but he was bullied at school), and that he was financially stable, they're discussing him in the Current Events forum.

Anyway, as sad as his death is, I don't see the point in speculating over why he chose to bow out. Its just that, speculation....

I respect anyone who choose to "bow out" but it has hit me hard because that was the method that I was actively practicing this past spring.

When I got the cnn alert on my phone I didn't really believe it. I was sad and kind of in shock. I cried every night the 3 days after his death, that's when it really hit me. I've never been so heartbroken over the death of someone I haven't met but I feel like I connected with him. I never met him but he felt like family and a lot of people told me they feel the same way. It's strange how universally heartbreaking his death was, not many people react like that to the deaths of other famous people, at least not that I've seen.

He didn't choose to bow out he was overwhelmed by stuff and couldn't carry on any more. The depression and despair got the better of him. He had severe depression and he was having financial problems. He had drink issue and he did suffer childhood trauma in his family life which affected him a lot.

Yes! I adored Robin Williams and was heartbroken and shocked to hear the news.
So yes, I cried.

Kind regards,

I've been seeing all the old classic actors die over the years. But this is the first actor that died that I feel really sad about.

I just spent an hour watching Robin on YouTube. He was such a talented, vital man. So, so sad.
