Hey guys

I have a question. I'm currently on 100mg Lamictal and 5mg of Abilify.
I have my pdoc appointment in a week but thought to ask anyone here for opinion or for similar stories (maybe).

Well I'm more stable than I was. Before I had swings several times a day. But now I have then every couple of days. I'm fine for about 5 days then I crash for about 3 days. Obviously my swings shouldn't occur so often no?

So is the increase of my current dosage possible?

thanks all, have a good day

I used to take 30mg of Abilify and I didn't have any mood swings.

Hottie but did you took in in combo with any other med? I mean I read that Abilify is like a boost to Lamictal...dunno if it's true or not.

thanks!

Yes, I did take it with Lamictal 600mg and Cymbalta 120mg. Taking Abilify at 2.5mg-5mg augments an anti-depressant not an anti-convulsant. Abilify at a higher dosage than 5mg works as a mood stabilizer and helps with schizophrenia. Lamictal at 500mg-800mg has anti-depressant properties.

Thanks girls for your help.

Well i don't really know what will help me, but my pdoc said that i actually have 2 mood stabilizers....but i guess i need more boost for my lamictal cus 5 mg is not enough boost i presume.

i once took 125mg of lamictal but it made me FLAT so that's why i think that IF pdoc will increase my dosage, she'll icnrease abilify...it really helps me having more good days than before....but still have too much bad ones.

take care and enjoy your day

When I was on lamictal my pdoc wouldn't go over 400 mg. She said that was the upper limit. And 15 mg for Abilify, though I'm only on 6 right now.

Abilify is my life saver. I am relieved to know I'm on a low dose and can increase it if need be.

Cocinella, I'm on 400 mg Lamictal and 30 mg Abilify. I was on 15 mg but kept having breakthrough mixed episodes. The Abilify increase seems to work, however I think it makes me gain weight.

Theatre, my p-doc says the same thing, maximum of 400 mg for Lamictal. Have you read any info on why that would be a limit?

Hottie, did you notice a difference in depression when you started the higher dosage of Lamictal? I want more, but doc says no.

Hey everyone,

well mostly i'm just thinking if lifting the dosage would be an option for me right now. i have pdoc appointment soon (thank god for that) and am prepearing a speech for her haha

i'm on the lowest dose of both lamictal and abilify...and dunno what the increase would do to me. i just dont like this melancholie i'm at often, yet practicly NO hypomanic moments anymore.

love to you all
