My Dr had my labs drawn last week when I was taking 1200mg in pills. However, it was causing horribly stomach cramps and nausea at night. So...she took it back down to 900mg. I saw her today and she was so happy with the level last when I was still taking the 1200. She said she could tell I had felt better when I was taking the 1200....so she switched me to the liquid lithium. Im supposed to split the dose. So I am taking it in the am and pm now.

Has anyone else taken lithium citrate? She said it shouldn't hurt my stomach or cause nausea. If it does, she also gave a med to help with that.

Well i woke up super happy and singing. Literally. Sang allllll morning and such. By 1 or 2:00 i just didn't feel like talking and my aed and angnxiety was sky high. Im getting annoyered easily again. Im not really yelling but just kinda mean which is unlike me. I couldn't focus in therapy because its like I cant comprehend what she was saying or concentrate. My Dr says she thinks this stuff is kind of hypomania. Im supposed to start the L citrate probably tomorrow if it comes in at the pharmacy. And back up to 1200mg. I felt ok that week and I felt pretty good this past week. Ive been super active and got a lot done. I am starting to get overwhelmed a bit though to be honest. I have SO much going on now! :/

Also....am I the only one who researched theirs meds to see how dangerous they are? I researched doxepin a lot. I knew how dangerous it was when I OD on it.

I am taking Liquid Lithium. As far as the GI stuff it's not that bad for me. I took it years ago as well and there were some side effects like mild nausea but not enough for me to stop taking it. Lately I noticed a little nausea with meals. I take it twice a day. Mood wise I am not better yet but the med is not giving me diarrhea or stomach cramps. I also order it from my pharmacy about 5 days in advance so they have it when I need it. It is not a commonly prescribed formula.
Good luck!

Doxipin threw me into the most hellish mixed episode of my life !

I wont take a single medication unless I have researched the hell out of it. My Pdoc is actually happy that I do so much.

Well I was researching it to see how dangerous it was.....

I don't have it anymore. I got to taste charcoal that night and be watched by a guard all night while on heart monitors etc and then get transferred by ambulance for a 72hr hold at a horrible hospital.
