One of the first things my dad said to me after my bp fiagnosis trying to cheer me up, wss that many creative people, artists, have bp.

I definitely have an artistic side.

I play the alto sax and have played for about 14 years.

I wish i could devote more time to playing, im a busy guy, but i do have some stuff on yotutube.

Do you play anything? Sing? Rap? Paint? Please share your story.

Thanks.

Absolutely does count! As long as you have the dedication to practice and get better

I've been a musician since I was about 14 and have always had a love for music. Oddly enough looking back my pdoc and I both think my bipolar started around the same age. I play guitar and bass guitar. I do sing a little but I don't think it's all that great even though everyone says I'm good. I think they're just trying to be nice.

I've played clarinet and piano most of my life. It's the one and only talent I have and I am proud of. Musical talent doesn't run in the family, just one great-uncle. I believe my talent might be partially relative to the BP and OCD, but I don't know how. I've always noticed how my brain works so differently compared to others, getting from point a to b. Could the musical talent be part of that?

Playing has been my escape, my sanity. I remember when I was a teenager and when the BP and OCD came about. I would play for hours and just go into my own world. There was no screaming, throwing things, cutting myself, washing my hands over and over, just music. This is what gets me thru the day.
Thanks for this!
