I've been wondering what some key differences are between the two conditions. Recently diagnosed with bipolar, and I've had a blood test done to check for thyroid problems (which came up fine), but I'm still paranoid about having something like hyperthyroidism, and confirmation bias is really starting to get to me.

I developed it. They recon lithium caused my body to produce antibodies to attack my thyroid, which no longer functions. But I think you need a genetic predisposition for the antibodies to be formed.

I think I'm a rare cause out of all the millions who do take lithium.

It's important to have regular blood tests done.

Unfortunately all meds come with side effects.
