HELLO ALL !

IN 2000/20001 A MEDICAL STUDY FOUND THAT A NEW THERAPY HELPED
PEOPLE WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER CONTROL THEIR MANIA.

IN 2006 A FURTHER STUDY CONFIRMED THEIR FINDINGS.

fUNDING FOR THIS RESEARCH WAS HARD TO COME BY AS IT INVOLVED NO
DRUGS SO THE BIG DRUG COMPANIES WERE NOT INTERESTED AS IT DID NOT
PROMOTE THE USE OF THEIR MEDICATIONS.

YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT BY NOW THE USE OF DARK THERAPY WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE BIPOLAR WORLD BY STORM WITH SUFFERERS CLAIMING
THAT THEY HAD CURED THEIR MANIA AND IMPROVED THEIR BI POLAR
SYMPTOMS.

BUT NO IT REMAINS A LITTLE KNOWN TREATMENT.

IF YOU HAD CANCER AND YOU WERE TOLD OF A TREATMENT THAT COULD STOP IT YOU WOULD SURELY JUMP TO GET TREATED. YES !

i UNDERSTAND THAT IT MIGHT NOT FIT IN WITH YOUR LIFESTYLE AND BE
INCONVENIENT BUT WHAT PRICE TO PAY FOR YOUR GOOD HEALTH.

PLEASE GOOGLE.

1. BIPOLAR DISORDER LIGHT AND DARKNESS TREATMENT IMPLICATIONS

2. BLUE LIGHT IS THE LIGHT THAT MATTERS; HERES WHY.

3. DARK THERAPY.

THIS COULD AND PROBABLY WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

TRY THIS FOR AT LEAST TO WEEKS AND IF IT WORKS FOR YOU THEN POST ON HERE AND TELL AT LEAST THREE OTHER BIPOLAR SUFFERERS.
THIS WAY WE CAN CHANGE THE LIVES OF BIPOLAR SUFFERERS EVERYWHERE.

PAY IT FORWARD ! PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW YOU ARE GETTING ON !
GOOD LUCK !

Here is what I am seeing on that website:

1) Biologic Clocks and Treatment (Dark Therapy
(updated 8/2006))

2) Bipolar Disorder: Light and Dark
(Bipolar Disorder, Light, and Darkness:
Treatment Implications
(original, July 2006; revised 1/2011; minor update 8/2013))

Do not have time now, but will read it later - sounds interesting. Thanks for posting, fingers! As for posting links - you just copy the url address and paste it into the text of your post. Then the url address will appear in your post, just the way the url addresses appear in mine, above this text. If you want to go the fancy route, you can make the link read whatever you like but point to the url address. It looks prettier, but requires extra effort. If you want to do that, there is an icon with the globe (blue and green) and a link beneath it on top and across the window in which you enter the text of your post. You would need to press on that icon and enter the text you want visible on top and the url address on the bottom in the little window that will pop up for you.

I can see how this would work in the Northern hemisphere but I live in the tropics where day/night is pretty constant. I don't own a tv hardly use my computer at night and mostly use candles for illumination. It hasn't made any difference to my bipolar.
Thanks for this!

Great theory behind the concept.

Can't do it with a family of 4 though.

Hi again Hooligan !

I recently read a post from a man who uses Dark Therapy, he also has a family
He tells his wife and children if you want Daddy to be well then you have to let me sleep when I need to.

You can adopt this method if you really want good health.

For me as soon as I feel a bit strange I go to bed.

8.30 at night for twelve hours and one hour after lunch.

Bipolar sorted !

What if you are a single parent? and what stops you swinging the other way into depression?

I guess I'm the exception to the rule. I work midnights, don't sleep in total darkness, and I have a different sleep schedule on my days off. I'm thriving in this situation because I go out of the way to make sure I get enough sleep.
