Neurological Issues coupled with Lithium

I have been having different neurological things going on that I will see a specialist for soon. Today I saw my pdoc and we were chatting about things going on in my life. When I mentioned I stumble sometimes, I told her I assumed it went along with everything else. But then it came up how I get confused sometimes. Because of those two things she wants a lab to make sure its not toxicity. I think if I was near toxicity I wouldn't be functioning but shes careful about things. BUT good news?? My moods appear to be level now AND soon I will get to stop taking Lamictal. Woo!!

stumbling and confusion can happen when you develop toxicity on Li. The Dr is being cautious and careful which is great, and the results will be available soon - the test is fast. If you have toxicity, the dose would be lowered. I try to be on the bottom of the therapeutic range.

Even if you have toxicity, it is mild, because, as you said, you are functioning and all your writing is lucid.

Yes I agree. She just wants to be careful. I see a neurologist soon for other issues and I think she wants to make sure lithium isn't causing this before I go. When I say soon...I really have no idea. I haven't heard from a Dr office to set up an appt.

Yea...that's the office that could take me quickest. Of course, I am also a new patient and don't have anything interesting or important going on so Im not a priority. I am predicting the symptoms will disappear by then and I wont see the point of even going.

Yea... I don't even know what an neurologist appointment is like lol Both my Dr and Pdoc want MS ruled out because of my Mom.

i know people who have MS and are physically and mentally active and do more stuff than an average person without MS can do. I hope you do not have it but if you end up dx'd with it, PM me and I will get a list of resources from you.

Well...my Mom has it. That's why theyre concerned. Of course I guess about the symptoms lol But mostly because of my Mom having MS

Thank you I was hoping itd be a vitamin def. but those were normal. Now Im gonna hope its a nerve issue. I started having sciatic stuff last week. Im doing the exercise my Pdoc said would help.
