Right, which is why I ended up working later then everyone else because I needed to get work done. My days were quite commonly 12+ hours with stuffing my face at my desk for lunch while working. And had asked the boss for a schedule so I could get some quality work done and/or a quiet place to work because of the concentration issue. Was turned down. Was made fun of. Was harassed. Very depressing.

Yep, sounds familiar. My pdoc and I asked for accommodations that would allow me some uninterrupted work time, and that was turned down flat. Right after that I was fired.

That's what my docs tell me to do because there's a genetic component to this. I'm risking lots of health problems by not going with my natural clock. It's like asking a regular person to work night shift.

Unfortunately, there is no night shifts for my field and after completing graduate school and several years in the field, I can't change my profession unfortunately unless I want to earn minimum wage or a few bucks over that. Believe me, I've contemplated this so many times.

It's strange because I'm absolutely completely miserable and drained working day shifts, but it's even worse in the morning hours so that by the time I get home, I'm hypo. It happened consistently. It could be ultradian bipolar, I'm not sure.

Winston Churchill was bipolar and this was his schedule during the war: get up at noon, order a few bombing runs, have lunch, take a nap, work a couple hours, have dinner, then work nonstop from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. THAT'S the bipolar schedule.

Waking up early, navigating traffic, then trying to get in on time in fear of getting fired - it's puts me in an extreme state of anxiety or a mixed state. Then to work the rest of the day in a complete circus of politics, backstabbing, abusive bosses, noise, and sleep deprivation. I swear that last job I had caused me to cycle much much faster then I ever did before. I'm not seriously the same now.
