I would very much like to stuff my neighbor's stereo down his throat. I have had a migraine quality headache for 2 months. See doc tomorrow for it. My hearing is sensitive normally, but super enhanced when my head hurts. I haven't slept well in a long time. He doesn't even live next to me. He's down the street a few houses. Both of our homes are closed. My TV is on and all I have is this bass beating in my day after day during non noise restricted hours. So I can't call the police. I've spoken to him before. Apparently I'm the only person in the neighborhood who has ever complained to him. I want to beat him to the bass booming in my head. Help!

I know this isn't ideal, but can you wear some noise cancelling headphones, at least (especially) when you have the migraine?

I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. I know how terribly annoying it is to have to deal with bass and I can't imagine doing it day in and day out. I hope you get some relief soon.

Need to look into the head phones when I'm feeling more sane. Good suggestion. I think he might be done for the night. In the summer when he thinks no one is watching, he practices dance moves on the porch. He really is not that good.

Have any of those cheap ear plugs factory workers use? Might help a bit!

Feel better!

I can relate, same problem with downstairs neighbors here. I lived for many years in earplugs. But they mess up my ears now. Headphones are too much.

Rather then murder, you might want to try ear protectors... Amazon.com: 3M Peltor H10A Optime 105

In the office, the big earmuffs come in handy at work too because when you have them on everyone automatically knows that you don't want to be disturbed.

Ear protection? Been using them for years (not long enough) while mowing & stuff. Ear plugs not work so good and often do slowly slide out. Ear phones, thick good kind ($40) work great but not to wear all day, begins to rub parts of head, rod over head connecting two parts over each ear, can slide down, and too bulky to sleep with. Buy a small cheap boom box, late at night when he is asleep, hide it outside his house somewhere, in the thick bushes, as loud as it will go, and maybe he will have to search for it. But then again he may be death from all the loud music.

If you can stand it, loud bagpipe music usually sends a succinct message to neighbors who play their music too loud.

I use Hearos foam ear plugs. They irritate my ears though now.

Bagpipe music sounds awesome! I should give that a try and see if he prefers that to the dance music mixes he plays.
