I can sleep a full 8 hours and on my days off of work I want to take naps, but we are talking 2 hours. Do other people feel as sleepy as I do on a regular basis? Also, don't even want to do anything besides my routine things like exercise and etc.

Is this all the time or just when you are depressed? I also sleep about 8 hours every night and could nap every day. I am more tired when depressed, but even when I am feeling great I can still be able to nap. I have always needed sleep. My husband can do fine on 5 hours a night, but that would be awful! When the kids are in school I go to bed about 11ish and am up at 6:30. Sometimes I take a nap around 2 till I have to pick them up.

I feel depressed alot, so sleep is something I constantly feel I need..It's like I can wake up and feel like I'm exhausted....my body feels like it didn't sleep. I take meds and one of them is an anti-depre the Prozac seems to take the edge off, but I told my therapist I didn't want to be a zombie where I didn't have a personality. I guess the Prozac helps to a degree but then I still feel that nothihng will completely cure depression so switching meds isn't the answer

Just a thought.....have you had your thyroid checked lately? Under active thyroid can cause some crazy fatigue. Worth looking into.

Even when stable and happy, I need extra sleep compared to most people. Going back decades, I've been a champion sleeper. Especially with the meds. I average about 10 hours a night plus a nap.

I used to joke that we don't need 8 hours of sleep a day - we only need to be awake 8 hours a day!

This sounds about like my sleeping but don't get naps unless I'm off work. I wish I could sleep longer because it let's my brain rest.

I always feel sleepy during the day and even if I don't nap, I lose that sleepy feeling by night. I am not sure why, but I seem to be on a backwards schedule. Sometimes getting through the day makes me feel so exhausted that when I get home I just feel like I want to keel over on my couch and sleep. But I don't because I always try to make sure I sleep well at night (which does not happen). My doc has put me on Trazadone and it's worked wonders for me to get a good night's rest. It hasn't completely taken away my drowsiness during the day, but it's helped a lot.

I can't sleep. My anxiety and depression is so bad, that I wake up several times during the night. How can I sleep 8 hours straight? Please help me.

Honestly, since I read before I go to bed...it really helps .....sometimes I wake up sweating and I sleep with it cold in my house, those nights I usually lay in bed for a while or try and close my eyes and listen to pandora classical music for studying station on low. I hope this helps
