Blue light management for soft bipolar cyclothymia.
stories of gaining control of your day with light and dark therapy

By Charles k Bunch Phd

A quote from this book

I have used blue-light management in the treatment of all bipolar disorder
patients at Boise Bipolar and PTSD clinic in Boise Idaho.
In 25 years of clinical practice this is the single most important tool I have
come across in addition to standard mood stabilizers and supportive
cognitive behavioural therapy.

quote.

Now this might be hard for you to swallow as it is with many of my patients.
However, this is a fact: If you have a mood disorder you are impacted by
blue light and the management of blue light is essential to your treatment.
Blue light management is not an adjunct to medication; it is a true
treatment for winter depression and summer hypomanias.

This is not some pie in the sky mumbo jumbo this stuff actually works !

I hope you read this book !

Do you find that the change in light really helps you? I'm thinking of buying the book but was just wondering if it really works. I watched a couple of videos on the subject but they didn't really give any idea on how to add blue light to your day.

Mine is not soft bipolar but thought that if the light helps in any way it would be worth checking out. Is it hard to get more blue light into you day?

Hi Gayleggg !. What is your diagnosis and what are your cycles and symptoms ?
are you more depressed, hypomanic, manic or a rapid cycler ?
There is no guarantee that this will work for you but .

As I understand it and to simplify it
a lot of Bipolar sufferers are light sensitive

If you are hypomanic you use dark therapy (you need less light and more total darkness)
if you are depressed you use light therapy ( you need more light )

the book explains what to do and more
