Hello all,
I'm still new enough that I haven't written 5 approved posts in order to post elsewhere.
Anyone else here with a longtime diagnosis of Bipolar and a new (missed for decades) diagnosis of BPD??

I'm curious and interested to meet anyone new to BPD, but not so new to the Mental Health arena.

I'm older (46), so I'm trying to let go of the anger of not having been diagnosed years ago and perhaps having had different outcomes to the many decisions I have/had tried to make in life. I'm confused and angry, but trying to be forgiving, for my own sake, and open minded to whatever treatment might make a difference. However, with my current "major depressive episode", I'm also wondering "what the hell for?" Why get well now? I missed out on some major life changing events. I wasn't choosing, I was doing whatever I could to get by in life.

I can tell I'm going to be all over the place here, so I'll stop now, but please, anyone else out there living with anger and or regret, I'd be interested to chat.

Thank you. P E A C E

I may be in the same boat as you. I've had a BP1 DX for years, and in a recent therapy session, I brought up BPD as I meet at least 5 of the criteria for the disorder. But I tend to see BP as causing the BPD symptoms so it's very confusing. I need to explore the relationship with a therapist before any diagnosis is given.

Do you have both disorders? Or are they changing the DX to BPD?

Knowing is half the battle they say. I'm sorry for all the time you've had stolen by not getting the proper DX. I'm new here also, and I look forward to getting to know you better through your posts.
Thanks for this!
