I've been on Effexor for about a week now I am no longer breastfeeding my son I am still having lots of manic episodes and irritation but I think it's somewhat helping me I have been drinking on it too bc I've been kind of depressed I have been reading a book about bipolar illness it is helping me cope with bipolar reading about other people's stories and how to stabilize and manage bipolar I'm not sure if this medicine will completely heal me but I'm hoping things will get better im still irrated a lot and arguing with my husband I want to move out of this little down bc it's depressing and I want to move out of this house bc were living with my in laws it's hard and I think it makes my bipolar worse I want to get a job or volunteer I need something to do around here so I don't get depressed

These drugs do different things for different people; Effexor didn't help me when I needed it. Talk to your doctor if it's not working for you. 'Still having lots of manic episodes and irritation' and still feeling depressed sounds rough. I just Googled 'Drinking on Effexor' and the internet seems to think it's a bad idea.

Thank you I will stop the drinking and maybe that will help me I'll also talk to my doctor if the Effexor isn't working soon
