I took Seroquel for a short time. Mentally it worked well for me, and I had no problems for the first month I was on it. However, after the first month I gained 5 lbs in 2 weeks despite staying on a < 1500 calorie per day diet.

Psychotropic drugs' efficacy and side effects seem to vary widely from patient to patient. I tried Effexor years ago and it didn't help me at all, but I had a nice long-term relationship with Seroquel where I took it every night at bedtime and enjoyed sound, uninterrupted sleep that seemed to maintain my stability. I had to stop Seroquel because it conflicted with another drug that I must now take for a cardiac condition. Best of luck with your new scrips and remember that your doctor can usually prescribe alternatives if they don't work out.

I am actually on that exact combination, It has worked great for me paired with my lithium and Vyvanse. With Seroquel it's all about keeping a schedule and knowing when to take it so you won't ahve the seroquel Hang Overs in the morning.

I take 50mg. of Seroquel each night. It helps me sleep and keep away nightmares. Which is the reason I was prescribed it to began with. The only problem is that I now rarely remember my good dreams. But all in all the drug has helped me in other ways to. I am calmer and more positive.
