I'm really struggling. What coping skills help you the most?
For me decaf tea, lavender aroma therapy and guided meditations. |

They are good coping skills. For me it depends on my symptoms. I find mindfullness meditation very useful in almost all situations. Breathing calmly can help. Exercise is also a good one. Then there is distraction when all else fails.

My job is a good coping skill...I get to throw building materials across the yard and slam everything down. Swing a sledge hammer and dig holes in the yard. I love digging holes. I can dig a lot of holes. I've been digging holes all my life as a matter of fact!

I also use music as a coping skill.
I like to play my healing music, smell lavender and have some decaf tea. Usually helps me through.... |

Music can definitely help me, but it can make it worse sometimes if I choose certain music.
I've just recognized that I have a massive lack of self esteem, so when I realize I'm thinking negatively I write it down and then write down as many positive thoughts I can. Also I'm in a play right now and every night before I go on stage I write positive affirmations so I don't get stuck in a self-hate spiral.

Really good idea. Writing positive thoughts to outweigh the negative ones. I'm gonna try that. Thanks.
