Hi all !

Has anyone found a med or alternative therapy to help with the physical
problems associated with Bipolar2.

I seem to have the psychological side under control but the physical aches and pains and slowness just drag me down.

any suggestions ?

Hi fingers1

Please don't quote me on this one but I believe there are meds that deal with certain physical problems.

One of the ad that I am on can be prescribed off treatment for a physical condition.

I'd be interested to hear from other members about this one.

Thanks for asking.

Honestly most doctors recomend light exercise or yoga for the physical pain that often is cause by Bipolar. Yoga stretching is very helpful in releasing tension we all carry around, more so than your average person.

I have constant Fibro pain, Yoga is a great help it also can help you find Physical and Mental balance. It's one of the most under used coping skill and healthy living skills.

I wasn't aware that Bipolar 2 could be associated with pain. Does anyone have a link to somewhere I can read about it? I haven't seen physical symptoms specifically mentioned in anything I've read so far.

I get pain too. Yoga certainly helps and relaxation/meditation to really relax my body and centre myself. Walking is also good and easy to start small. Adequate sleep and healthy low gi meals also can help. Maybe get some bloods done to see if there are any supplements that may help ease the pain, or if there is an actual physical reason for it. There isnt in my case but I have a referral to the physio, just havent got round to booking it yet. I have been walking and meditating more but I am a bit slack with the yoga (cant find my tape) and it has certainly lessened the pain during this episode.

I use lavender essential oil to relax which helps me overall -- this helps with tense muscles. Scented candles can spread soothing aromas through your home which will help a little bit. I found that exercising in a pool helps with the pain, or taking a long hot shower does too.
