So I haven't taken my meds in two nights! I've also gone to bed at like 3am and woken up at 11am!!! And I feel tire but also like my thoughts are racing all over and all these songs are in my head and it's almost awesome because I'm all like "la la la la la!" And I feel so ready to just get a bunch of work done today and be really social when I can!!!! Well, see, up until two days ago I was really depressed and a bit of me maybe still is so I could either maybe be going hypomanic (which I'm not going to lie would be awesome and such a relief) or be somewhat mixed. So yeah! I'm jumpy in a good way I guess!!! I feel like I should be nervous if I'm going hypomanic, but gosh what a relief from depression at least for now!!!!

Just be careful. It can go bad quick. But in glad you're feeling better! Enjoy it!

Hi Becoming
Yes, I understand the relief of coming out of a depressive episode. You're on an upswing. Who wants to feel depressed anyway? Well I don't. But I agree with wildflowerchild. Keep an eye on the upswing. Don't let it swing too high because that could land up not being positive for you in the long run. Keep tabs on this one with your pdoc. |

I'm assuming you decided to stop your Lamictal on your own right, because no pdoc in his right mind would have you stop cold turkey on 200 mg of Lamictal? Well I am going to vent if this is the case. Why do I constantly read about people doing this over and over on here? I haven't looked up lamictal in your case, but people stop some of these drugs and don't realize that they can have seizures and all other kinds of physical affects on there body. Plus now your messing with your BP.There is a reason we have psychiatrists you know, and I'm pretty sure you are not one. Sorry for venting everyone but I'm tired of people not taking these medications seriously.

I'm not sure how to stop a mood from progressing whether it's depression or hypomania. Both of them just tend to come right along. But I'll let me therapist know it's happening. I see her Wednesday. Quote:
It's only 2 nights. It's not going to kill me. Sometimes I just don't feel like taking them or I forget or I'm comfy in bed when I realize I forgot to take them. I would never quit them cold turkey forever. I never go more than 2 or 3 days without it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[/QUOTE] So what you are saying is you are too lazy to get out of bed or you just don't feel like taking your medications? How are they suppose to be therapeutic if it's a hit and miss kinda thing. Look what it's doing to you right now. You only have one medication. I take five medications. I've even left work and went home to take my meds when I forgot once. You would rather be hypo, or taking a chance of going into a mixed episode. Have you ever experienced a mixed episode? I came off of Seroquel with my pdocs instructions, and I instantly went into a mixed episode. It was pure hell. I dealt with it from March all the way until July trying to find an AP that I wasn't allergic to and I had to go back on Seroquel, which by the way has caused me to be pre-diabetic and I have to take medicine for, and was the reason I came off of it in the first place. Ask anyone on here if that has had a mixed episode if they would love to experience it again? It ruined my life last year and I was taking medications faithfully and following my pdocs instructions. It's called a reality check. My concern is for people that take these medications seriously. If your serious, then yes I am concerned.

I am with you completely. ^ I stopped mine cold turkey for a few weeks and I really, really regret it.
I have had to start lamictal over at only 25 mg. I made a huge mistake. |

It was 2 nights. Jeez. I never said I was going to quit them or go more than that. Again, the most I've gone in 3. It doesn't set me into full blown episodes. I'm fine. I'm not being stupid. Sure, it's not the best choice, but I'm fine! This is really being completely blown out of proportion and turning an ant hill into a mountain. The issue for me simply isn't that big. Quote:
Same as I said above. I'm sorry that happened to you. I wouldn't quit mine like that though. I understand people's concern, but just because I don't take them for 2 or 3 nights doesn't mean I'm going to do something like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I only ever stopped my meds when I ran out and I had to immediately get a new prescription. It is not a nice place to be in. I had to go over a week without and it was horrible.

I need and love my lamictal but I must admit I have stopped and started several meds... been addicted to one and been refused another....there are good and bad reasons for each..but in the end one must choose for themselves,, I only hope all the risks are know before hand..having said that....can we all just play nice..

I'm a little jumpy today myself. I feel like I have energy, yet I'm having difficuly focusing on any one thing. Sometimes I feel full of energy but can't move. Here and there I've been able to focus it. Just scrubbed my kitchen floor by hand.
