I'm having one of those days where I just don't want to go to work. Not feeling particularly bad mood wise. Actually doing really well. I do feel like I could easily end up either hypo or depressed or definitely mixed easily if I'm not careful. Noise sensitivity is a big indicator of where I'm at. Having some issues with that.

My work load is just overwhelming. I'm pretty certain no one understands how much I do. Not even my boss. Of course I'm still going in though. Just not feeling it today. I'd rather work from home today, but I really need to go in.

Does anyone else get noise sensitivity?

I notice clocks ticking more. They make me angry. Everywhere I go there is clocks One of those days and noise sensitivity Loud noises make me explode if they rub me the wrong way.

Yes, I have noise sensitivity, too. It gets really rough sometimes because my husband can't stand the quiet, so he keeps the tv on all the time. Sometimes this drives me up the wall.

It's good that you are going to work even though you don't feel like it. That's very commendable.

I'm sorry you are on the edge of a mood swing. I know how hard that can be.

TV and music doesn't bother me unless it's SUPER loud. It's more things like clocks, appliances running, my son's toys, phones ringing.

My desk is next to a clock, and I know the phones will be ringing all day.

At home I can put headphones on and listen to music and have some control over stuff.

I have no control at work. Almost no one I work with knows I'm bipolar, so if I start messing with stuff I'll have to explain. This is going to be a looooong day.

Yes I get very hypersensitive to noise. It seems to be common actually. I find getting away from noise helps me most.

(((scatterbrained)))

Hang in there.

I tend to find stimulation in my external environment a bit much when I am feeling anxiety so as far as auditory stimulation goes yes for sure things like clicking clocks and things would annoy me.

Uggghhhh...Me too. Sometimes it triggers the hypo-mania and sometimes it's concurrent.

I definitely experience noise sensitivity especially like you said to things like ticking clocks and appliances running. In general I just *feel* that my nervous system is extra extra sensitive to external stimuli...outside factors just really influence me and my moods. I am still learning to be in tune with myself enough to know what external stimuli I can or can't handle. And yeah it realllllly sucks when it's out of your control.

I get noise, touch and light sensitivity. It's most common when I'm hypo or in a mixed mood.

Yep right there with any noise drives me so mad like I want to smash whatever is making sound even people laughing agitates me quite a bit. It is so hard going to work on those days that's why I'm only working 2 days a week now without depakoat I just can't swing it. I hope your feeling better at home now!

When my mind is driving me nuts with racing thoughts I can go walk or strenuous hike with music blasting via ipod-very calming-but if I got that irritability thing going OMG can't stand repetitive noises-ticking clock, heat & air cycling on & off or somebody like clicking a pen repetitively makes me absolutely berserk. Or flipping TV channels-one of the worst-hate that.

Today was a major roller coaster. I was pretty irritable this evening. Feel horrible. Snapped at my son a lot. He threatened to harm himself 😢 Then I took a nose dive. Really wish I had someone to help take care of him for a couple days. We need a break from each other.

I have that noise sensitivity issue too. I nearly lost my marbles when I worked in an office where the phone rang constantly and there were frequent interruptions from other staff. And it wasn't like I could block all the sound out with my iPod, because the phone was often for me. Needless to say, I didn't do well in that environment.

I have the noise sensitivity thing also. There is a new noise right now at work and I can't figure out what it is, the building is huge. No one even noticed it, of course I did. Here I was by myself cussing at the ceiling trying to find it. Anyway, last year I went thru a mixed episode and I would have to go home because even certain peoples voices would set me off, so I would leave rather than lose my job.
