Just coming out of a down period of sleeplessness and now I am rested, bored and irritable. Just realized that probably I will never have good sex again (I am 58) and my daughter is very annoying (a teenager). It is all downhill from here on...getting old is a miserable experience.

Don't tell me these things! I'm looking forward to growing up (I'm 25) and having kids (i have none). But really, I am sorry you are feeling like this but don't give up. It's not over. I hope that you find something that lifts your spirits.

Getting old isn't really a thrilling process for anyone, but I have yet to find a way to stop it , I myself and having issues with it.

But just because you age doesn't mean you can't still enjoy your life and have great sex. Im 48 my sex now is better than anything I had in my younger years lol

Are you in Therapy? If not please consider seeing a Therapist. he/she can help you process how your feeling and you can learn ways to still enjoy your life and that aging isn't the end of the good stuff.

I hope your feeling better and able to find some positive to focus on soon

Yes, of course. My T is past 70 (she looks maybe 60) and a cancer survivor..she is great when I am there...
I know my petty problems are not quite the same as some of you, so I am sorry. When I was 48 I did feel better, indeed. I have 3 reading glasses (one for the Computer Monitor excursively)...

I am 56 and hear what you're saying, KinkyGuy. Everything hurts; sex doesn't happen unless I make it happen; and I'm crazy too. But I try to maintain a sense of humor about it all because that's the only way to survive this getting-old stuff.

The "second wave" is coming. My mom tells me about the "dating news" among the people in their 70s and 80s in her church. It sounds like high school again.

So you think that you are old! I was just 76 (wanna trade). I am having sexual problems too. All of my parts work but there is a psychological factor involved and I am working on overcoming it.

I'll be 65 in May and my untreatable bipolar continues to take its toll on me. I'm still trying though even my pdoc reluctantly admits that we're running out of options. Like you, I came out of a long period of poor sleep, which led to hallucinations and strong suicidal urges. Klonopin, the drug I love to hate, was once again prescribed and a week of solid sleep pulled me back from the edge. I look good, like a car that looks like it came off the showroom floor...but the engine and transmission are trashed, lol. I really don't have any insights, except to keep trying. That might sound trite and perhaps shallow. It's true, though. But if you want to remind yourself of the strength of the human spirit, watch two great Steve McQueen films; 'The Great Escape' and 'Papillion'.

I relate. Getting old sucks. It's painful physical, and it feels like a cruel joke sometimes. I don't mind looking older (prefer I didn't though ). But all of the physical stuff that comes along with aging just sucks.

My sex life sucks too......but it's because I have no desire. Depression can do that to ya.

I hope things turn around for you.
