Yeah well my pdoc said this week I am a super rapid cycler she was just unwilling to pin it as was trying to be sure she had it clear cut due to a different disorder that may have confused the whole thing. Ughhh.

I never used to be like this.

But this is annoying now.

I did stop my meds yes I was told this was a very manic decision and impulsive hahaha and got threatened with all sorts of outcomes if I remain a non compliant patient - she would prefer it if I found someone else with this super rapid manic cycling if I chose to continue with abrupt med withdrawl against her advice. Fair enough. It did annoy me. But then I went back on my meds. Not something I should have done without her opinion.

Oh! Apparantly I am that UNWELL that I think I am WELL hahahaha that is what she said.

I did have to see her twice this week though. At least I have nice music in my car.

And she said I should take this seriously hahaha so I had a face off with her and said here stare at me SERIOUSLY but she LAUGHED I WON YES!

I'm back on meds as a good person but what's up with Lamatrogine and Seroquel not stabilising my mood? Lamatrogine used to be awesome for me now I'm like I dunno. I don't mind this nice Quetiapine. She said it is used offlabel as GAD. It does help but it is not good like Valium. Don't worry too much about this Med Review. We all have personal experiences and side effects with medication. It's worth a shot in my personal experience if you have anxiety - it works for some, and not for others, like all meds:

http://forums.psychcentral.com/meds/seroquel.html

What mood stabilisers do you like?

I might suggest some to her next week when I see her again.

I wish I could say I have experienced this but not without getting my dx yet which is annoying. But people have been saying to me that ever since last year in October I have been severely depressed to suddenly a really high happiness to then severely depressed again. I wasn't aware that it happened in October but according to my friends my moods have been more dramatic since.

Well my last pdoc told me I was rapid cycling and cycled faster than anyone she'd met. But...she's kind of dumb and I just was
Ip in February for a moderate mixed episode. Makes me wonder if instead of rapid I'm having mixed episodes instead. A friend here told me the same thing. She also said that my fast cycling is why I had gotten the Bpd dx a few years ago.

Either way..,it does suck from I can see. I hope you find someone to relate to on this. Please take care and be well. Make good choices and be safe.

Yeah I am unsure Hallie isn't rapid cycling different though to your BPD dx? Not sure.

Yes that is interesting. I had both. I mean I have both. Except my dx swapped the other way round. But I wasn't this ultra cycler when I had my bpd dx. So that was probably easier. It was a late dx though. My BP was easier to spot for this medical world. The BPD was less obvious. The rapid cycling is newer for me because I used to have long cycles of depression and mania and now who on earth knows what mood I wake up in

This is why I did not quit the lamotrigine,, I was afraid of it losing it's effect for me...it works so well for me...take care..

I do the same thing haha! I quit my meds because I either think i'm okay, or that i am a faker and dont need meds.

I am dx with bipolar and bpd. However, my bipolar is either a mixed state or depression. These moods last longer, typically like bipolar. My bpd mood swings are obviously faster. However, bpd mood swings are more contingent on like, external things? (sometimes not for me though but usually). Unlike bipolar where it is an internal change for no real reason usually.

are your ultra rapid cycles just an internal thing? or is it kind of based on your external world? maybe that is a question that will help clarify things for you.

also, sorry about your luck with meds :/ i've only been getting treatment since june, and only started seeing a psychiatrist since october. When i was first hospitalized in november, that is when the med trials began. I have yet to find something that helps with any, or all, of my symptoms. (but im not new to this whole mental health thing, im only 18 and have been having problems since i was 13, i had brief treatment initially then it stopped. i dont think my parents cared)

Haha yes chasms I did think I was okay.

Sorry to hear your bipolar is mixed state or depressed. Mixed states are uncomfortable. Yes, BPD mood swings deal with external things, that is my understanding too chasms. My Bipolar is mostly just swinging because although there is a pattern of extreme stress being able to enduce an episode but that I can only track back to when I used to have longer episodes of BP. Well apparantly I am an ultra rapid cycler my pdoc said. I've been dx BP for a while now but they keep changing their minds about this BP upgrade. I was originally BP2. Then BP1. Then BP1 with Psychosis. Then BP with BPD. Then rapid cycling with BPD. Yes go figure all that.

Wiretwister I need patience probably with Lamatrogine because I've had to start all over from scratch - 25mg p/d increasing 25mg/week so maybe I will just see. It does work quite effectively between 200-300mg for me.

Have you done DBT? It is perfect for this kind of swinging. If you have done it, what skills are you using?

Sorry to hear you are rapid cyling. RC sucks big time. I tend to cycle over weeks sometimes less and I am most often mixed, depressed or hypomanic but when I get mixed it is mania and depression so it can be pretty intense as I am sure you know. Unfortunately RC can be more difficult to treat but it can be treated. Listen to your pdoc and at least for a while stick with what they suggest (unless it is downright stupid of course) to remain compliant and try to get stable. Our illness lies to us so we need to remain vigilant. I wish you the best on your journey.

Yeah thanks so much for that Wander.

Mixed states are pretty awful too.

Totally agree!
