For the last few weeks, I haven't been able to function. Suicide attempts and laying in bed. Now I'm being kicked out of my parent's house because of it. I'm 21. I have no place to go and they are saying they will drive me to a homeless shelter. I have a dog and two birds and they are going to sell the birds and give the dog away. I don't know what I'll do if I'm homeless. I am trying desperately to find a job. I just feel too dysfunctional to work. I have been thinking about suicide as my only option out of this and my mom keeps telling me to do it. I need to get out of this home but I also cannot be homeless.

Aww, sorry to hear sweety. It doesn't sound like your meds are working. Head to the ER, tell them your suicidal and your psych meds aren't working, and get a committal to help pull you together. It also gets you out of the house. They have programs to hook you up with and places for you to go, they want to keep you safe.
I have to take a little bit of Prozac to pull me out of permanent depression when stabilized. Good luck with that! ![]() |

My heart goes out to you. You are right you need to get out. Social services can help you until your episode passes. Your mom sounds fed up and I hope for her sake she shuts her damn mouth in the meantime. Suicide is NOT your only option and no you shouldn't do it. Try other options. Mental health clinics, hospital, social services. This is being thrown on you but I promise life gets better on your own.
Can you sit down with your parents and discuss how you can amicably handle the pets? Like they care for them until you are settled? Or possibly a friend or other family? One thing at a time ok? People move out on their own all the time and I think you can do it too!!

I don't think there are meds for horrible parents. Maybe in the end you will be better off on your own, out of that toxic enviroment.
Find a shelter for yourself and your pets, or have somebody help you (dunno... social services in your area maybe?). It will be super rough in the beginning, but it may as well be a path to healing.

I did a search for animal rescues in your area. I don't know if this one can help you, but if they can't, they might be able to direct you to someone who can. They do foster care. Some of the animal rescues in my area will board your animal for a limited time if you are homeless or otherwise unable to keep your animal with you.
I am an "animal person" and know what awful pressure it can add when you are ill and have to worry about what will happen to your best friends if you can't take care of them for a while. Wanekia Wanagi Shelter 18436 County Road Xx Kiel, WI 53042City: KielPhone: 920-894-2247 |

Wait...your mother is telling you to suicide?! I agree with others. It is probably best to get out of that environment. Do you have any friends you could move in with temporarily?
